Webcam Software: Magic Camera
This
is just a quick "review" of Magic Camera,
one program I found while searching for picture-in-picture
(PiP) webcam software for use with two webcams. I was
looking for a completely free PiP program, but (as yet)
I have not found one that doesn't have a watermark credit
over the webcam image until you pay to upgrade. (See the
top of the demo.)

this quick 7-second demo to see how it works.
Another
popular webcam-software program is ManyCam. (You have probably
seen that overlay over webcam images if you view a lot of
amateur webcams.) One of the selling points of Magic Cam,
however, is the upgrade price of $29.95* for Magic Cam as
compared to $49.95 for ManyCam.
The PiP image can be dragged to any spot on the main picture
and also resized. I hope to create more (and better) samples
of its use for here or for one of the videos in another section
with a link to it from here, so come back for a more detailed
review later.
And PiP is just one of the many features of Magic
Camera, as you can see in this screenshot from the Magic
Camera homepage:
I
I will try to get back here sometime in the future to add my
own text and samples when I've had time to "play around" more
with the software. For the moment, I'll be using it mainly for
the PinP feature.
